The Schola Cantorum

The Schola Cantorum sings once a month at the 5:00 p.m. Saturday mass with rehearsals at 7:00 p.m. on the Thursday prior. The Schola is a smaller, auditioned group of about twelve voices under the direction of J.C. Terpstra that draws primarily from the Catholic Church's great classical tradition for its repertoire. The Schola generally prepares two anthems in addition to the service music for each monthly mass with very little rehearsal time so  the ability to read music and prior choral experience is strongly encouraged. This choir is a good opportunity for singers who are unable to make the weekly commitment of the sanctuary choir or for people who have the time and inclination to sing in both the Sanctuary Choir and the Schola.

Members of the Schola Cantorum frequently join with the Sanctuary Choir for special events such as the Memorial Concert or music trips.
